Little Swimmers

It is such a bummer when coupons aren't distributed nationally! I didn't get my 99 cent detergent because when I looked through my coupon pile it was not there. It is possible that I some how clipped it and misplaced it, because not only am I procrastinating, I lack organization. Oh well - I do have a deal coming up since we will have to buy swimmers for the upcoming summer! Since I have three of these coupons I will be stocking up :)

99 cent Laundry soap!

Although my menu planning hasn't worked out as well as I thought, I am doing a fabulous job keeping up on couponing! I have a binder with all of my inserts and am ready to get some more cheap stuff!

This Friday Hyvee has a sale on Purex laundry detergent for $3.99 and with the $3 off coupon in the 5/01 insert makes a pretty good deal! Walmart will match any ad so I plan on going there to get it! I just wish I would have gotten more papers May 1st! This would be a great deal to stock up on!

I am going to grab some free razors too and a cheap heat pack!

Noxzema Spa Shave Razors, 4-pack $1.97$2.00/1 Noxzema Spa Shave Razors, 4 pack from RP 5/1

I will scour the internet to find more deals for my shopping trip Friday! I am in dier need of a printer so I can also print off manufacturer coupons! Although I am doing this in baby steps, I would eventually like to have a coupon for almost everything I buy! Soon we will have a family of four and everything helps! Last week I played the lottery and that didn't seem to come through so we have to do something!

Carter said " what you got" to RJ last night. It was his first little sentence that I've heard plain as day. He isn't a big plain talker but he sure tells us what he's thinking all the time! Soon his ramblings and babbles will turn into more and more sentences! Here are a few pictures of him being silly in the car on our way to Ottawa to see the family!

Looking so grown up!                                                  He's so silly :)

Tator Tot Casserole..Go!

I am beginning to see why coupon savers become so addicted! It's a great feeling to get something for free, even if it's just a bar of soap or a toothbrush.

I also signed up for a year free of Maxim for my boyfriend. Thanks, Mamas on a Dime! Click on the link to receive one yourself! Free Maxim!

I can't wait for the coming weeks so I will already have coupons. I am missing out on some great deals now because I hadn't started in March. I don't want to use coupon clipping sites, just yet. They charge about 10%.

It took almost all week but I have my to do list nearly complete. I need to tackle the dishes tonight before my boyfriend leaves me for a woman who does them! Ha. We discussed switching our duties - I cook for awhile and he will clean up. I am determined to prove him wrong that he's a better cook. I think if he's the one doing dishes, he will stop using plates for his PB&J's. :)

Tonight we're having Tator Tot Casserole. Perhaps next week I will do a better job at keeping to my planned menu. This just sounds soo tasty! I originally found the idea from Duggar Family Blog; but used the recipe that someone posted in the comments.

32 Oz. of Tator Tots
1.5lbs of hamburger
16 Oz. of Sour Cream
1 Can of Cream of Mushroom
1-2 Cups of Shredded Cheddar Cheese (Depends on how much cheese you like)
6 Oz. Can of French's French Friend Onions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook hamburger. While cooking hamburger, mix sour cream and cream of mushroom soup together. In a 9x13 glass casserole dish layer ingredients like this, starting from the bottom and working up: tator tots, cooked hamburger, and spread cream of mushroom soup/sour cream mix on top. Put in the oven for 45 minutes (if you like crispy tator tots). At end of 45, take out top with cheddar cheese and french fried onions, put back in the oven for about 10 minutes, until cheese is melted.

Already slacking.

I have yet to stick to my menu. I have yet to go grocery shopping. But we did use a coupon to go out to chinese last night!

Thursday - Jumbaliyah
Friday     - Steaks, mashed potatoes, gravy
Saturday - BBQ for Mother's Day
Sunday   - leftovers

I have been meaning to get some free soap from Walmart - with the coupon I clipped on Sunday! Thanks for the heads up, Clipping w/ Carie. I might have missed out but I didn't want to use the gas to walmart to get free soap, and buy $40 worth of other things. I want to plan my shopping trips accordingly.

List I made yesterday
Plan Menu
Blog
Pay Bills
Pay Daycare
Make Shopping List / Coupon match
Do dishes
Make a side for Saturday

Ready, Set..

This is my attempt of keeping myself accountable on menu planning, couponing, and other aspects that I just plain put off until tomorrow. Working full time has given me the excuse to last a lifetime. Although I would much rather spend my time after work playing with Carter than cutting coupons, I also spend ample time watching reality tv, and sitting on my bum. If I write it down, I have to do it -right?

I plan on using other couponing blogs/websites to find deals, menu plan, and then schedule my shopping trips to get the most bang for my buck. Many moms do the leg work themselves - kudos to them! But I will link the websites I find to give them credit, of course. With baby number two on the way, it is the perfect time to organize my home-making skills.

Now if they just had a blog that would come clean your house.
